Conference Speakers

Our Top Three Tips for choosing a speaker

By June 23, 2014No Comments

Tip 1: Be clear about the theme of your event. Should the speaker have expert knowledge on this subject or not?

Tip 2: Be clear about the speaker’s role. Is the speaker central to your event e.g. MC, or chair? Or will they turn up for a specific time slot such as the After Dinner speech? Or to deliver a motivational speech during the event?

Tip 3: Be clear about the impact you want the speaker to make. Should the speaker give the audience a deeper understanding of a particular subject? or a different perspective on a tricky issue? Should they motivate the audience to do something? Should their style be lite-hearted or serious? Should they provoke questions and encourage discussion? Or should they tell personal stories stimulating admiration and amazement, or should they entertain the audience and make them laugh?
