Brendan Balfe has spent a lifetime in Irish radio. Since his debut at the age of 18, he has been a disc-jockey, station announcer, producer, television presenter, comedy writer, satirist, performer, interviewer and presenter of most of the daily slots on RTE Radio.

He opened RTE Radio 2, released Ireland’s first comedy album and produced most of radio’s biggest names. He had his own production company supplying programmes to the Irish radio market, acted as trainer for corporate clients and lectured in IADT on radio broadcasting. Brendan is renowned for both his comedy radio programmes and his documentaries, including The Irish Voice, the CD of which was the best-selling Irish album of 2011.

He recently toured his one-man show telling ’Tales from behind the Microphone’, was a highlight at the 2016 Listowel Writers’ Week and the featured speaker for Culture Night at the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland.
