Biography
Eileen Gleeson is the current Manager of the Irish Women’s National football team as well as being the Head of Women’s and Girls football in Ireland. Having coached and managed at international, professional, and national level women’s football, Eileen is a trailblazer in Irish Women’s football including being the first women to achieve the elite UEFA Pro licence coaching award, the first Irish manager to lead a team, male or female to the knockout stages of the prestigious UEFA Champions league competition.
Beyond her role in management and coaching, Eileen has 20 years’
experience in sport development and is dedicated to increasing participation and developing pathways for women and girls in Ireland.
Off the pitch Eileen has a keen interest in academia, is a PhD candidate exploring expertise and decision-making and the author of several publications on decision-making, performance analysis and leadership.
Eileen regularly delivers talks on decision-making, maximising potential in high performing teams, and leadership in dynamic team environments.
