American born and a new Irish citizen, Erin is a spoken word poet and former Obama ’08 campaign staffer. Called ‘deliciously exotic’ by the Irish Independent, she has graced the stages of Glastonbury, Hozier and James Taylor concerts, and toured events and festivals all over Ireland and internationally. Her first book ‘Hymn to the Reckless’ was chosen as a ‘Must Read’ by The Millions and her work has been included in Best English and Irish Poetry 2016.
Erin can offer an engaging talk on the ‘Story of Self, Story of Us, Story of Now’ strategy that helped lead Obama to victory, or a set of poems on a theme to engage an audience in a compelling shared experience.
Her poem 'Hymn to the Reckless' featured on posters and curriculum nationwide for Ireland’s National Poetry Day. Her poetry and writing has been featured on BBC3 and national radio across Ireland and she has been involved in a large scale collaboration with street artist Joe Caslin. She was co-founder and Programme director for Lingo, Ireland's first ever spoken word festival.
Erin is now Director of Ashoka Ireland. She is doing a national Irish tour with poet Hollie Mcnish at the end of April 2019, and will be appearing during Cuirt Festival and on Pantiocracy (Panti Bliss podcast show) and is also a featured poet at Glastonbury this summer.
Erin has been featured with commissions at RTE Culture Night at Dublin Castle, Frontline Defenders, Dochas, Pieta House, and many others. She has led Obama-style storytelling trainings and delivered keynotes at Undergraduate Awards, Ashoka European Staff meetings, WaveChange, UCC, and many other events and organisations here and abroad.
