Upon completing her studies at Trinity College Dublin she then pursued a part-time Broadcast Journalism Post Graduate Diploma and entered RTE on a full-time contract in 2003. She presented a variety of programmes for the national broadcaster during her tenure, including National Lottery Shows Winning Streak, Trump Card and Big Money Game. During this time she also worked on radio station 2FM daily.

Laura then moved to commercial station TV3 (now Virgin Media Television) where she presented the four-part series Renovation Nation, before joining the Ireland AM team where she stayed as one of their presenter/reporters for over a decade.

While at VMTV, Laura has interviewed a huge variety of guests, from Michael Parkinson to Sting, Hollywood actors to Sports Stars. She was the first presenter at the station to be invited to Áras an Uachtaráin for a sit down interview with President Higgins. Throughout the pandemic Laura continued to broadcast three hour live breakfast shows daily and it was during this period she had the chance to interview The Taoiseach, the Tánaiste, The Minister for Housing and the Leader of the Opposition Party as Government officials navigated their way through an extremely difficult time for the country.

Since leaving VMTV in the summer of 2021 Laura has become monthly Parenting Columnist for RSVP Magazine, joined Classic Hits as guest presenter and returned to RTE where she can be seen weekly on RTE’s Today show, discussing the news of the day.
