Biography
Richard Curran is presenter of The Business radio show on RTE Radio One. It is one of the top 10 shows by listenership on Irish radio. He was presenter of Dragons Den on RTE television for eight seasons. He has co-authored two books – one on entrepreneurship in Ireland and one on the collapse of Irish Nationwide Building Society. He has made several big TV documentaries for RTE including Future Shock – Property Crash in 2007 and The Battle for Rural Ireland in 2014.
He has been deputy editor of The Sunday Business Post, assistant editor of The Sunday Tribune and business editor of the Irish Independent in his 27-year career.
He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience across a wide variety of business, economic and social issues. He has chaired major industry events organized by government departments (like Department of Business Enterprise and Innovation) law firms, regulators (like National Property Services Regulatory Authority, Central Bank, ComReg), and large corporates like Pfizer.
Richard co-hosted the programme Open for Business on RTE with Ella McSweeney and is a very popular MC.
He has also done one-to-one live interviews at events like the Pendulum Summit in Dublin with Sir Alan Sugar, Gary McGann and former Governor of the Central Bank Philip Lane.
